Cinnamon basil (ocimum basilicum "cinnamon") is a variety of basil with a purple stem and green oval leaves.

Its leaves are very fragrant with a taste of cinnamon. Cinnamon basil goes perfectly with desserts such as fruit salads or compotes. It can also season summer salads.

Cinnamon basil is eaten raw, because it loses a lot of flavor during cooking.

This annual plant, supports most soils and will have a preference for a partial shade exposure. It can be planted outdoors when frosts are no longer to be feared.
